1989 · Ireland
After a career in commercial sculpture and film, Emma turned her attention, focusing solely on her own work. She recently had her first New York-based solo show in Underground Gallery, Harlem. Other shows include a solo show in Melbourne and a collection of group shows in Ireland, London, Melbourne and New York.
Emma’s current work focuses on how monuments command the movements of a crowd. This work is dictated by the sun which, in turn, commands viewers interaction with the artwork. Focus retracts back to the earth and its movements; the work is almost a vessel for the light; allowing it to impose guidance.
