Using his incredible talents as an artist to conjure incredibly compelling trompe-l’oeil compositions, American artist Colin Hunt takes each work as an opportunity to lull his viewers into a false sense of visual security.
Pulling together a patchwork of visual references with remarkable precision, Hunt often interrupts his works with a visual intrusion of a seemingly divergent vantage or realm. The result is a captivating intersection of worlds that tie to the artist’s own recollections on love, loss, and memory.
Based in Brooklyn, Hunt earned his MFA from Columbia University in New York. In addition to his work being featured in many notable publications such as The New York Times and The Brooklyn Review, Hunt has also enjoyed the exhibition of his work in numerous exciting locales. Among his past venues, Hunt has exhibited at the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston, in Houston, Texas; Triumph Gallery in Moscow, Russia; and Vox Populi in Philadelphia.
