Weaving together myriad references in his dynamic and colorful canvases, British artist Ben Jamie has an uncanny capacity to transform the everyday into the extraordinary.
He pulls his motifs from the larger world around him, but in the process of creative evolution they become something much more: whether they reveal something about the artist or about the viewer of these works (in the way they react to each work), Jamie’s paintings introduce a form of allegory quite appropriate for the modern world.
Born in Nottingham, United Kingdom, in 1978, Jamie studied at both the University of Gloucestershire and the Ecole Cantonale D'Art Du Valais in Sierre in Switzerland. He also participated in the Turps Banana Painting Programme in London.
